Ich LIEBE Son House! Völlig durchgeknallte Performance. Hab nur den OST der Scorsese - Dokureihe auf CD. Irgendie finde ich keine LPs von dem. Aber "Preachin' Blues" und "John The Revelator" sind schon herausragend.

Ich finde das nach wie vor weitgehend irre. Interessant ist, daß Son House ein verurteilter Mörder war (wie auch Leadbelly und R.L. Burnside), der aber erstaunlich schnell wieder auf freien Fuß kam, weil ihn irgendein weißer Farmbesitzer zum Arbeiten brauchte und für ihn bezahlte. R.L. Burnside kam auch nach sechs Monaten wieder frei, weil er als einziger auf der Farm Traktor fahren konnte. Son House wurde danach tatsächlich Baptistenprediger, also ist das quasi autobiographisch.
