um ehrlich zu sein, habe ich ziemliche hemmungen, da reinzuhören. je ambitionierter der herr zu werke geht, desto weniger kann ich mir das anhören. ich fand schon "rufus does judy" grenzwertig und "songs for lulu" sterbensöde. da waren ja auch schon ein paar vertonte shakespeare-sonnette dabei.

so, ich hab mir die sonnette jetzt mal angetan. sie lassen sich grob gesagt in drei kategorien einteilen:
- rezitationen, von mehr (carrie fisher, william shatner) oder weniger bekannten schauspielern (letztere vermutlich verdiente theaterdarsteller - ich kenn mich da ja nicht aus) unterlegt mit minimalsitischer elektronik oder piano. ist meistens angenehm anzuhören, hängt von der stimme des vortragenden ab, mal angenehm (shatner), mal weniger (inge keller). na ja, und mit dem altenglisch kann ich halt leider nicht viel anfangen. eins gibt's dann sogar auf deutsch. ist aber auch nicht meins.
- arien, gesungen von anna prohaska - muss ich sofort skippen.
- popsongs, gesungen von ihm selber, florence welch und seiner schwester martha + helena bonham carter. alle drei gut, vor allem letzterer, der sogar perfekt wäre, wenn er da nicht auch noch eine opernsängerin hätte mitträllern lassen.
