Die Genre-Bezeichnungen nehme ich, wenn sie nicht explizit bei den Seiten aufgeführt sind, von All Music. Das passt allerdings nicht immer. Gibt es da auch keine Genre-Bezeichnung, setze ich das Hauptgenre des Künstlers in Fragezeichen. Viel Spaß beim Reinhören...

Du kennst die Dame nicht? Songwriterin. Ihre Musik findet sich auf den iPhones deiner Schüler. Überwiegend ist sie im Dienste anderer Interpreten hinter den Kulissen tätig z.B. Rihannas "Diamond" oder David Guettas "Titanium" ist von ihr. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sia_(Sängerin)
Falls sich die Frage aber auf speziell dieses Album bezieht: Es ist (so gut) wie das letzte ... Chartsmusik eben, aber ok.

Es ist nicht so gut wie das letzte. Das neue ist gut, das letzte war brillant und mit einem einfachen "Chartsmusik eben" eher ungerecht bedient, dafür ist das Songwriting viel zu hochwertig und die Platte im ganzen zu düster. Auf die Neue trifft das mit dem "Chartmusik eben" dann schon eher zu, die besteht ja auch aus Songs, die ursprünglich nicht für Sia selbst gedacht waren, sondern die sie für andere Künstler - also de facto auch fürs Radio - geschrieben hat. Diese Songs sind dann nicht so subtil und auch nicht so mitnehmend imo, aber man merkt trotzdem noch, dass die Frau ihr Handwerk versteht und singen kann sie auch noch.
