Ist mir fast schon zu wohltemperiert und eher Easy Listening als Jazz, aber nichtsdestotrotz schöne Musik. Funktioniert grad recht gut, wo die Sonne durch's Fenster scheint.

Habe ich auch einiges auf der "Boogie Chillen" - Compilation. Die hat ein ähnliches Cover: eines, daß man anschaut und denkt, man könnte einfach hinein - und auf der abgebildeten Straße weiterlaufen.

ZitatNÉRIJA are are a collective of London-based musicians playing exciting and original music inspired by Jazz, Hip Hop, Afrobeat and South African Township. Featuring a line-up truly representative of the up-coming London jazz scene, the seven-piece band features rising players such as tenor saxophonist Nubya Garcia (Polar Bear, Outlook Orchestra, Steve Reid InNOVAtion Award Winner), trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey (KANO, Little Simz, KOKOROKO) and guitarist Shirley Tetteh (Maisha, Gary Crosby's Groundation). After the release of their self titled EP in 2016, their eclectic repertoire has appealed to not only the UK jazz scene but also given them a presence within rap and pop-focused festivals. Together they have toured across Europe and the UK in addition to performing alongside top UK jazz musicians such as Nathaniel Facey of Empirical, pianist Zoe Rahman, and supporting Jazz Jamaica at the renowned Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. Nérija's most recent acclaimed performances include, Manchester Jazz Festival 2017, EFG London Jazz Festival 2016 (Cadogan Hall, support for Terri Lynne -- Carrington Trio), A Love Supreme Festival 2015 and a support slot for Ernest Ranglin at the Barbican Centre. This self titled EP, newly re-mastered, marks their debut Domino release.
