001 FAD GADGET - GAG Ab 1978 versuchten viele britische Bands, den elektronischen Sound aus Deutschland in ihre Musik zu integrieren. Eine Aufzählung wäre ziemlich lang. Mit diesem Album ist Frank Tovey die absolute Verschmelzung gelungen.
002 JACKSON, JOE - BODY AND SOUL Nach einem kurzen Versuch, sich in der New Wave zu etablieren, hat Joe Jackson erkannt, wo seine wirklichen Stärken liegen und es mit diesem Album für alle Zeit bewiesen.
003 ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN - OCEAN RAIN Der Rezensent des ME schrieb damals sinngemäß, die Cover von Echo seien ein Grand mit Vieren. Damit meinte er die ersten vier. Und dieses Album war zwar nicht ihr Höhepunkt, aber trotzdem wunderbar! Und leider ein wunderbarer Abschluss.
004 MOYET, ALISON - ALF Was für eine Stimme. In der Zusammenarbeit mit Vince Clarke konnte sie diese bei Yazoo noch nicht vollständig offenbaren. Hier schon!
005 STRANGLERS AURAL - SCULPTURE Meine alten (Pseudo-)Punk-Rock-Helden liefen noch einmal zu ganz großer Form auf! Allerdings im Pop-Segment!
006 PSYCHEDELIC FURS - MIRROR MOVES Das beste Pop-Album der 80er von einer ehemaligen Post-Punk-Band. Wunderbar.
007 SMITHS - SMITHS Die Wiederentdeckung der Gitarre in den 80ern. What Difference Does It Make ... ein Klassiker!!!
008 U2 - UNFORGETTABLE FIRE Das beste Album von U2!!! Joshua Tree solllte es werden, dann Achtung Baby! Irgendwie haben sie nicht bemerkt, dass sie es schon längst gemacht hatten.
009 CZUKAY, HOLGER - DER OSTEN IST ROT Herrlich, was der Querdenker von Can hier auf dieser Platte veröffentlicht hat. Ich liebe sie! Mehr als viele Can Scheiben!
010 FIXX - PHANTOMS Ja, sie hatten alles. Tolle Plattencover, schöne Texte, eingängige Rhythmen ... aber trotzdem keinen Erfolg. Mich haben sie überzeugt.
Die Überschneidungen mit mir halten sich in Grenzen, aber Fad Gadget ist natürlich immer willkommen. Bei U2 gefällt mr "October" noch eine Spur besser.

Auf dem Album auf jeden Fall. Punk angereichert mit Goth Rock('n' Roll)-Elementen. Für mich ihr bestes Album. Danach wurde es polierter, davor war es stellenweise wesentlich punkiger.
