Meine Abneigung, mich mit den meisten Leuten außerhalb dieses Forums über Musik zu unterhalten, hat sich gestern Abend beim Grillen mit einem befreundeten Pärchen (das eigentlich sogar einen okayen Musikgeschmack hat, aber eben reine Autodidakten) wieder mal bewahrheitet:
Sie: Mein neues Lieblingsalbum ist ja "Legend" von Bob Marley, war glaube ich sein letztes Album bevor er gestorben ist.
Er: Ja, wir beiden lieben eben Ska und da war Bob Marley der Größte.
Ich: Ja, mag ich auch, wobei ich den großen Teil seines Outputs eher als Reggae...
Sie: Nein, Ska, er macht Ska.
Er: Genau, weil das einen Offbeat hat.
Ich: Also streng genommen kann man den Begriff Ska ja auf zwei unterschiedliche Stile bzw. Epochen anwenden, aber beiden ist gemein, dass sie deutlich schneller als klassischer Rootsreggae sind.
Er: Aber Reggae hat keinen Offbeat, nur Ska hat einen Offbeat, deshalb macht Bob Marley Ska.
Sie: Genau, klassischer Ska ist das!
Ich: Wollt ihr noch Wein?
Dabei habe ich dich schon höflich ignoriert, dass sie "Legend" als Album bezeichnet hat.
