ZitatNIIKA (FKA Good at Bad), conceived and fronted by Russian-born Chicago native Nika Nemirovsky (guitar and voice), is a genre-bending, continent-crossing, soft explosion of intimate indie, soul, and dirty pop. Nika wrote and recorded much of her music in Australia, but is currently holding a close focus on the blossoming creativity of her Chicago ensemble. The live show is a lush bath of ardent vocal performance, cradling harmonies, and seamless groove changes, which align like aural punctuation around Nika's vivid storytelling and deep, organic vulnerability.

Hier mag ich besonders die Stimme und den launischen Wechsel zwischen klassischen Blues- und Jazzroutinen und schrägen Melodien. Das Jahr ist eben noch nicht rum.

ZitatMarissa Nadler, Real Estate’s Martin Courtney, Christian Lee Hutson, and Kevin Devine are among the artists to have contributed to a new Elliott Smith covers compilation, as Stereogum points out. The project was spawned after Francis Lung (formerly of Wu Lyf) teamed with La Blogothèque and My Favorite Elliott Smith Song to livestream a charity tribute concert last summer. Some of those artists and a few others went on to record the covers you can hear on this compilation. Downloads benefit LGBTQ+ charities AKT, the Audre Lorde Project, and GIRES.
