THE JULIE RUIN Riot Grrrl icon Kathleen Hanna will present her project The Julie Ruin, in which she is playing with Bikini Kill bassist Kathi Wilcox, Sara Landeau, Carmine Covelli und Kenny Mellman. The Julie Ruin reanimated the artist name under which Hanna wrote a solo album in the 90s. There album „Hit reset“ was just released and is full of great but very personal Garage-Pop-Punk Songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEltsPb8M6Q
SLAPP HAPPY (w/ FAUST) By special invitation of WEEK-END Fest the avant-pop band Slapp Happy will play their first concert in 16 years and is accompanied in this rare opportunity by the krautrock legend Faust, with which they recorded "Sort of" and "Acnalbasac Noom“ in 1972 and 1973. Slapp Happy are Dagmar Krause, a chanteuse as they cannot easily be found in Germany a second time, Anthony Moore, who was professor for Sound at the Cologne media art school for many years, and the cartoonist Peter Blegvad. We are happy about the unique chance to listen to secret hits like The Drum, Casablanca Moon and Blue Flower (also known by the covers of Mazzy Star and Pale Saints) in the Stadthalle Köln-Mülheim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsUoEaRNDTM
BABYFATHER Dean Blunt brings his new alias Babyfather minimal beats and maximum message - smart, creative and politically or as as FACT Mag wrote: “Confusing, unlistenable, still hopeful.” And sure to be an essential and hotly anticipated live experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8ZlZ3NPhXI
LAWRENCE (FELT) The legendary songwriter and head of the shoegazing band Felt - Lawrence - drops in for an exclusive Artist Talk. In preparation to this rare event, the film previously shown "Lawrence of Belgravia" is a rare and fascinating insight into the life and work of the eccentric musician. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18C2rjFiDPU
SURFACE TO AIR MISSIVE Florida's recent export besides orange juice, Surface To Air Missive, connect complex songwriting with skillful instrumentation and draw us into their vortex of Southern Country-Psych-Pop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiUcBfzazPs
SIX MORE ARTISTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE COMING WEEKS!

Zitat von gnathonemus im Beitrag #309woah, neid! v.a. wg. lawrence
Ja, allerdings deutet der Satz The legendary songwriter and head of the shoegazing band Felt - Lawrence - drops in for an exclusive Artist Talk doch eher darauf hin, dass der Kollege gar nicht für ein Konzert auf die Bühne treten wird.
